Day 6
We’re on Day 6! Almost one week in.
Two simple choices today:
Keep doing what’s working — if you’ve found a groove with daily practice — like you’ve found a time and place that works well for you — keep going, exactly as you are. Catch some momentum before you even think about changing the rhythm you’ve found. This is like learning the scales or the chords before you can “improvise” and play jazz. Stick to the plan.
OR — Try something different today — if you haven’t, on the other hand, found your groove, why not try something different? Two ideas for you:
Dive deeper into the ARRIVE materials (just posted today) — listen to the 15 minute private podcast episode or sit down with the workbook’s reflection prompts and your journal or maybe even both ;)
OR — Take your practice, very simply, into the wild of your life. If 40 EM isn’t going “according to plan” (does it ever?) for you right now — like something unexpected has happened, your schedule has shifted, you have very little time to spare, whatever it is, rather than “officially meditate,” take your practice “into the wild” of your life:
Feeling run down but there’s still so much left to do?
See if you can soften a bit, instead of blow past your edge.So angry / frustrated / infuriated by something right now?
Simply notice how that feels — how your body burns, how your heart pounds, how your skin crawls. Whatever it is. Feel it. Notice it. The sensations, not the storyline. Be with the feeling directly.10 minutes alone to finally decompress at the “end” of the day?
Resist the urge to pick up your phone and instead: Breathe in, breath out. Breathe in, breath out. Breathe in, breath out. There, you practiced! You did it!
Let that “practice in the wild” be enough.
Because we’re here not to become great meditators, but to become more awake to our own lives, right?
OK, FOR REAL: HOW’S IT GOING? WHERE DO YOU NEED SUPPORT! LEAVE A COMMENT, ASK A QUESTION — LET’S DO THIS TOGETHER.
thank you thank you for keeping me going!
