40 Early Mornings: Fall 1:1 Custom Program
“A new moon teaches gradualness.
And deliberation.
And how one gives birth to oneself slowly.
·
Patience with small details makes perfect
a large work, like the universe.
·
What nine months of attention
does for an embryo,
forty early mornings will do
for your
gradually growing wholeness.”
— Rumi
Here's How Our Time Together Will Unfold
-
Week 1: Arrive
Transitions are potent, yet vulnerable thresholds. We LOVE to rush through them! Even if we're really excited about something, beginnings can be scary & confronting, make us irritable & even shut down. This WHOLE first week we practice the ritual of arriving: smoothing out our rough edges and sharp corners, so we can extend ourselves and this container for deep transformation some grace. This week is all about setting your intention, meeting yourself in this moment, and practically preparing to begin.
-
Week 2: Begin
I start almost every group I lead or new 1:1 client with the Blessing for A New Beginning by John O'Donohue. He invites us to: "trust the promise of this opening" and "unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning." This week, we fully commit to daily practice. We start to create the muscle memory for showing up every day for ourselves - to sit quietly, to listen, to embrace stillness, to reflect, and, of course, to connect. Your daily early morning ritual of attention begins this week. And as Mary Oliver reminds us: "Attention is the beginning of devotion." What might you devote yourself to these 40 days (and beyond...)?
-
Week 3: Let Go
This week is all about uncovering and squaring up to what's holding us back. Of course, we can't turn on a dime when it comes to our habits, our blocks, and the things that weigh us down. But we can begin to see them. To name them. And to change them. This week is cloaked in rituals of release and we take our cues from the natural world around us (nature is a wise teacher). The changing colors of the leaves, watching them fall: a vital and necessary stage to the full cycle of growth.
-
Week 4: Iginite
Lighter and brighter now, our fire begins to burn. Emboldened by two weeks of daily practice and what we are remembering about ourselves, our potential, our gifts, and our dreams: WE CLAIM WHAT WE DESIRE in this moment. It is no small thing to say - boldly and vulnerable: this is what I need, this is who I'm becoming, this is what I came here to to do. Scary and brave but is it not scarier to think: "What if I get to the end and I've never let myself go all the way?"
-
Week 5: Cultivate
Vocation is something we "can't not do." It's a calling that comes from the inside out. It is unique and special for each of us. A blueprint we carry and an imprint we leave on this world. This week is totally custom and focused on YOU and what you're seeking to cultivate. Whether it's an inner quality, a big move in your work / life / relationships, a dream brought to life -- this week is wrapped around the focus of your own choosing. No more saying "one day when..." or "on the other side of this deadline." This is your time.
-
Week 6: Sustain
Practice is for a lifetime. It's solo, sacred, single-tasking time you set aside every day to come back to yourself. My unsexy promise to you is this: daily practice is like a door wedge - it's a tiny space that you open up for yourself each day. And outside that door is the WHOLE damn world. As Rumi teaches, "patience with small details makes perfect a large work, like the universe." What we do most of the time is what matters. This week prepares you to leave our time together with the tools for a lifetime of practice.
Here’s exactly what’s included for you —
6 weeks of dedicated work together with optional start dates of Sunday Sept 22 or Sunday Sept 29
3 1:1 60-min coaching sessions (to be booked within 2 months of your start date) — one at the beginning, one in the middle, one at the end to mirror your growth, customize your support, and get down to the bones of what you really need in this moment (virtual via zoom on in person if you’re local!)
A custom practice plan for YOU - we’ll start with the 40 EM blueprint for practice: a combo of meditation, written reflection, and inspired reading and bring in tools of movement, rest, play, and creativity to round out your daily short-form practice (the bread & butter that keeps YOU, you!) and your dreamy long-form practice (the elements you include once a week / month / quarter / year to transformationally fill your cup back up!). I’ll bring you all the way through my 40-day, 6-week framework for practice and discovering your “gradually growing wholeness” and you’ll leave not only with muscle memory for daily practice, but also a customized plan, just for you.
12 emails — 2 each week. Sunday sets the plan for the week: your weekly questionnaire (more below!) and blueprint instructions for daily practice that week. Wednesday is the checkin email. An added dose of inspiration and instruction. A new resource to round out your inner work that week. And just a word of encouragement and reminder of support and accountability: we’re in this together.
6 self-diagnostic questionnaires: every week in Sunday’s email, you’ll get a new form to fill out. To help you excavate through written reflection the truth of your experience in this moment. It’s assisted self-reflection at its best. And it’s my favorite and most potent way to work with my clients (and myself!).
a custom guidebook, by you, to you — at the end of our time together, I’ll prepare a PDF that is YOUR personal playbook for practice. It will contain snapshots of our work together — like the responses from your weekly questionnaires to your customized short and long form practice plan and all our biggest takeaways and teachings together.
a private member page chock full of 40 Early Mornings content and resources: audio recordings of meditations, video instruction & lectures, yoga practices, rest practices, and more.
This is for you if —
You’re in a threshold moment of inner or outer change (or both!). You’re ready to stop saying “gosh, one day I’d really like to take better care of myself / slow down / stop stressing out so much / step fully into my purpose / [fill in your blank].” AND you’re ready to do the work.
It doesn’t have to be fancy or perfect or complicated. But you do you have to be willing to set aside 30 min - 1 hour each of these 40 days FOR YOU.
The window for joining me for this unique 1:1 and totally custom experience of 40 Early Mornings (& at this price point ;) closes Sept 29, 2024. I would LOVE to walk this path with you.
“In out of the way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
waiting until you were ready to emerge.
·
For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.
·
It has watched you play with the seduction of safety
And the gray promises sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.
·
Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plentitude opening before you.
·
Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life’s desire.
·
Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back,
learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be at home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.”
— John O’Donohue, For a New Beginning
